I asked Steven what would be a good name for this post and he shrugged.

The Halloween Festival was super fun this year! Steven did a great job with helping organize events, capture everything on video and even be a spokesperson for the media. (Check out his Indianapolis Star article here.) The Roller Derby was a hit at Ellenberger Park, which is likely one of the last events to happen there before they tear down the rink. Spooky organ music by no other than musician Larry BONEBRIGHT (get it? still makes me snicker) and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir was a marvelous concert at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Of course the day-of festival full of exhibitor booths, costume contests, fish fries, face painting, music, rides and a finale parade was everything we hoped it would be… including over 1000 attendees!

Probably my favorite part of it all was the production of local musical Cabaret Poe by Q Artistry. We didn’t get to see this comedic musical collection of Edgar Allen Poe works last year, and I’m so pleased we were able to squeeze it in our schedule this time around. Hilarious!

Jake & Lucy loved having visitors during the trick or treat hours! They were highly upset that they didn’t stay longer than 30 seconds, however. The whining was a little much, and they never did quite figure out what all the hub bub was about.  Here’s our little moose and Pats fan:

Check out all the cool things Steven and the IRV folks have posted regarding the Festival at their FB page, and be enticed enough to join us next year! Here’s hoping we’re moved and into Historic Irvington Proper by then…
